TimeStudio version 3.23 available

TimeStudio version 3.23 is now available as the latest stable version! Since the last official update in december 2017, we have silently worked with versions 3.19 -> 3.23, and have now made a more throughout update to make TimeStudio work well with Matlab versions up to R2022a.

This version includes the following updates:

  • All warnings and errors related to inconsistencies with newer versions of Matlab have been removed (=fixed).
  • User interface bug fixes in events_modification, events_reject, eyetracking_AOI_define, eyetracking_AOI_results, and other plugins.
  • Motion tracking plugins are no longer officially supported.
  • The TimeStudio database has been discontinued, and you can no longer use uwids. Use OSF, FigShare, Databrary, or similar services to share your TS studies.
  • Minor changes in the GUIs to improve user experience.

We have also created new YouTube video tutorials for eyetracking analysis:

Update to AOI_define (+_static) and AOI_results

Did you update to the lastest core since 1:th Dec? Unfortunately, the last update did not update the “AOI looking time (sec)”-bug fully…

We’ve now uploaded the same core (3.18), but with new versions of eyetracking_AOI_define (v1.21), eyetracking_AOI_define_static (v1.5) and eyetracking_AOI_results (1.8). These should work fine now, but as usual: contact us if you find anything that looks weird in your looking time results!

TimeStudio version 3.18 available

TimeStudio version 3.18 is now available as the latest stable version! This is an important update if you are using the AOI_results plugin.

Apart from that: we don’t release updates unless we think they are important for your scientific work. That means that we might not release anything more before next year. If so, we would like to wish you a nice December and a Merry Christmas!

This version includes the following updates:

  • Another bug was found in the latest version of the eyetracking plugin AOI_results. The bug could inflate the looking times (in seconds): AOI were treated as always active, and keyframes were ignored. IMPORTANT: the bug did not affect latency measures or percent looking time; it was only “AOI looking time (sec)” that was calculated in the wrong way.
  • Other minor fixes that increase stability.

TimeStudio version 3.17 available

TimeStudio version 3.17 is now available as the latest stable version!

This version includes the following updates:

  • eyetracking_AOI_results have been updated to fix an issue with eyetracking_AOI_define_static (and possibly if some old version of eyetracking_AOI_define was used with an updated version of eyetracking_AOI_results). The issue could give VERY inflated lookingtimes if the gaze was in an active AOI for the 2 first samples, so please check your data if you may be affected!
  • Other minor fixes that increase stability.

TimeStudio version 3.16 available

TimeStudio version 3.16 is now available as the latest stable version!

This version includes the following updates:

  • eyetracking_AOI_define has a been redesigned to reduce mistakes while defining AOIs. Buttons have been rearranged and both speed and stability has been improved since the last version.
  • Some bug fixes in core_event_related_data_extractions
  • Minor changes for updating Timestudio from within the main GUI.
  • Other minor fixes that increase stability.

TimeStudio version 3.15 available

TimeStudio version 3.15 is now available as the latest stable version! Let’s call this a traditional Christmas release without any new features, but a lot of harmony in it 😉

We wish all TimeStudio users a Merry Christmas 2015!!! We look forward to continue development during 2016…

This version includes the following updates:

  • Some bug fixes in core_event_realted_data_extractions (in some previous cases plotting did not work).
  • Minor changes for updating Timestudio from within the main GUI.
  • Other minor fixes that increase stability.

TimeStudio version 3.14 available

TimeStudio version 3.14 is now available as the latest stable version! It has some small design changes that make a big difference! Also, there are two new eyetracking plugins (see below).

This version includes the following updates:

  • eyetracking_AOI_define now shows active keyframes with blue dots in the timeline and inactive key frames with red dots. The time reference key frame (time zero, using the “0” button) is marked by a black circle.
  • eyetracking_AOI_define has been bugfixed when toggling key frames active/inactive, and the AOI dropdown menu now updates when you change settings.
  • The plugin eyetracking_ivt_fixation_filter has been added! This plugin makes it possible to filter raw gaze data into fixation data… The plugin mimicks Tobii Studio’s IVT-filter as close as possible, with some minor adjustments to conform to different eye tracking gaze formats.
  • The plugin eyetracking_AOI_crosstable has also been added! Ever wondered about how participants shift their gaze between multiple AOIs? Eyetracking_AOI_crosstable will create a 2D matrix with all AOIs on the X and Y axes and give a frequency index on how many time the gaze moves from an AOI on the Y axis to an AOI on the X axis.
  • When you open an exported study you will now be asked if you want to update core plugins in the opened study.
